A GUIDE FISHING SERVICE - VERO BEACH, FLORIDA

Captain Mark Yanno offers private guided fishing charters on the Indian River Lagoon and nearshore ocean.  Guiding in Vero Beach, Florida, since 1995, Capt. Mark brings over 40 years of fishing experience to every trip. With a degree in biology, Mark has worked in marine aquaculture and environmental conservation for the State of Florida and Federal Government. Besides being a very accomplished fisherman, Captain Mark is extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystems in the lagoon and ocean. Most importantly, he is a FULL TIME professional captain and has been actively and successfully fishing Florida's Treasure Coast (inshore/offshore) since 1988.

You will fish from a "state of the art" Action Craft flats boat, custom designed for inshore fishing and fully equipped with top of the line rods, reels and electronics. Captain Mark uses Evinrude outboards, Lowrance electronics, G-Loomis rods and Shimano reels.  The boat has very comfortable cushioned seats with cushioned back rests.

Inshore fishing trips often target snook, sea trout, redfish, tarpon, snapper, grouper, black drum, and sheepshead. Numerous other species of fish can be caught both inshore and offshore, however species abundance can change seasonally.  Huge tarpon up to 200 pounds, as well as large kingfish, snook, permit, cobia, and sharks, are caught less than a mile from the beach between May and September.  Catch and release is encourage, but keeping a few fish for dinner is acceptable.

The Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean are teaming with spectacular fish and wildlife. Dolphin, manatee, sea turtles and many species of birds are regularly encountered on trips.  Some of the East Coasts best saltwater angling is found along the Treasure Coast of Florida.  The beautiful Indian River Lagoon is inhabited by 685 species of fish and is one of the most productive bodies of water in the world.  The boat record is currently 22 different species landed in five hours.  The Indian River Lagoon contains three National Wildlife Refuges and most of the lagoon is encompassed by several State Aquatic Preserves.

Half day (5 hours at $300) and full day (8 hours at $450) trips are available.  Rates are for one or two anglers, with an additional charge of $50 for any additional angler over two.  Four anglers are possible only if two are under 10 years old.  Advanced reservations are recommended during peak periods.  Trips may be cancelled due to bad weather.
